Arriving in Malaysia

Andreas arrives in Kuala Lumpur with the United Nations Development Programme, working at the Economic Planning Unit of the Prime Minister's Department on the National Spatial Development Plan. He falls in love with the country, and later meets Najwa.

A City On Fire

Now in market research in Indonesia, Andreas is caught in the Asian Financial Crisis - hiding on the floor of a car as riots and fires spread through the city, his newborn child waiting at home. Months later in Singapore, the same fear resurfaces live on CNBC, in front of the cameras. He didn't know it yet, but both moments were leading somewhere.

Discovering NLP

Back in Malaysia and feeling stuck against a glass ceiling in HR consulting, Andreas is invited by Najwa to a weekend NLP seminar. Sitting in that room, the pieces fall into place: the fear in Indonesia, the fear on camera in Singapore - all of it had a structure. And what has a structure can be changed.

Asia Mind Dynamics Is Founded

Asia Mind Dynamics is registered and begins certifying practitioners, becoming a pioneer of NLP certification training in Malaysia.

It wasn't easy. NLP was virtually unknown in the market, and some people even mistook it for computer programming.

Towards the end of that first year, I sat around a table with two close friends. The three of us were trying to put into words what Asia Mind Dynamics was really about. Eventually, we came up with:

"Changing Behaviours Fast. Creating Change That Lasts."

We chose it partly because it rhymed, and partly because it said plainly what most people assumed was impossible. Or hard to do.

A Home Of Our Own

After years of training out of rented space, Asia Mind Dynamics moves into its own office. The first training in the new space runs in January 2011.

"We teach tools that dreamers use to make their dreams come true." Originating from Robert Dilts, it's been greeting everyone who walks through that door ever since.
